Entry to each session will be closed strictly 1.5 hours after the doors open, so get in early and make the most of the afternoon. If you suffer from hay fever please be aware that there will be hay bales and aromatic plants such as fennel and eucalypt on site, please also dress accordingly for the weather.

This is a licensed over 18 event, which means a great time to enjoy the company of other grown-ups, but also means that children cannot be admitted (including babies and toddlers).

There are three food trucks at Gin-uary. There will also be other food vendours in Red Square next door. You can also purchase a Gin-uary cheese box with three Tasmania cheeses, fruit paste and crackers. There will be vegan and gluten free options available.

Each attendee will be given a Gin-uary water bottle. There will be 4 water stations throughout the goods shed. We want you to have a great and memorable time so please please please keep hydrated. Ice cubes in your G&T don’t count.

There are brand spanking new toilets located in the goods shed. There will be signs pointing to where they are. Further to this, there are toilets located at the Red Square. You are able to exit and re-enter through the last exit on the right in the Goods Shed.

There are 26 distilleries that will be at Gin-uary. You will not be able to purchase drinks such as gin and tonics or cocktails at their booths, you can do this at the Gin-uary bar. Visit each distillery to learn about and try their unique Tasmanian gins. The sample size of gin is 10ml. And for those gins you love (I’m sure there will be many!), you will be able to a purchase a bottle or two at each distillery.

There are two bars at Gin-uary – the Gin-uary Bar and the Ninth Island Vino van. The vino van will have Tasmanian wine as well as cans of beer. At the Gin-uary Bar there will be two cocktails on offer and a specially made Gin-uary gin & tonic. The bars will close 15 minutes before your session ends.

Fingers crossed it’s not a repeat of the first year but, heaven forbid it is, there will be measures in place to ensure everyone is comfortable. Please be prepared for all weather. It could change drastically on the day (we are in Tasmania after all)

There will be security on site. If you have any issues on the day please let security know. Obviously Gin-uary is a booze related festival, however – know your limits, don’t be a wally and don’t ruin it for everyone else. We have a zero tolerance policy in regards to anti social behaviour. You will be asked to leave if you can’t play nice.

First aid

Medical Edge will be on site and have signage. If you have any medical issues please let them know.
