Refund Policy

Refund Policy

Gin-uary has a 30 day cancellation policy and refunds cannot be offered for ‘change of mind’ cancellations after this point. We are however happy to offer transfers and name changes if you would like to attend a different session or if you would like family or friends to attend in your place.

When purchasing tickets to Gin-uary, you must select a drop down box confirming that if Gin-uary is cancelled due to Government Directions, you will not be entitled to a refund, you will receive a ticket to a rescheduled event.

If you are seriously ill or suffer a tragedy that means you are not able to attend Gin-uary we may require evidence to support your refund request.

Entry

Entry to each session will be closed strictly 1.5 hours after the doors open, so get in early and make the most of your time. If you suffer from hay fever please be aware that there will be aromatic plants such as fennel and eucalypt on site, please also dress accordingly for the weather.

Sessions

There will be 3 four hour sessions for Gin-uary 2024. Make sure you select the correct session when purchasing tickets and arrive for the correct session on the day.

18+

This is a licensed over 18 event, which means a great time to enjoy the company of other grown-ups, but also means that children cannot be admitted (including babies and toddlers). Unfortunately, your furry friends aren’t able to attend either – even if they’re over 18 in dogs years.

Food

There are a variety of food trucks at Gin-uary. There will be vegan and gluten free options available.

Water

Each distillery will have a water station and be able to provide you with a refreshing glass of H2O. Water will also be available from the bars. We want you to have a great and memorable time so please please please keep hydrated. Ice cubes in your G&T don’t count.

Toilets

Fear not, there are excellent facilities located inside the PW1.

Drinks

The Gin-uary Bar will have cocktails on offer and the Hobart Brewing Co. Can bar will be set up to supply you with a frosty beer or two.

Distilleries

There are over 35 distilleries that will be at Gin-uary. You will not be able to purchase drinks such as gin and tonics or cocktails at their booths, you can do this at the Gin-uary bar. Visit each distillery to learn about and try their unique Tasmanian gins. The sample size of gin is 10ml. And for those gins you love (there will be many!), you will be able to a purchase a bottle or two from each distillery.

Weather

There will be measures in place to ensure everyone is comfortable. Please be prepared for all weather. It could change drastically on the day (we are in Tasmania after all). Please dress according to the weather and remember to Slip, slop, slap! Sunscreen is available at entry and the bars. Remember to stay hydrated – you can find water at every stall.

Security

There will be security on site. If you have any issues on the day please let security know. Obviously Gin-uary is a booze related festival, however – know your limits, don’t be a wally and don’t ruin it for everyone else. We have a zero tolerance policy in regards to anti social behaviour. You will be asked to leave if you can’t play nice.

First aid

Medical Edge will be on site and have signage. If you have any medical issues please let them know.

Tonic

Tasmanian Tonic Co. have generously sponsored Gin-uary for 2024. They will have booth at the event where you will be able to collect your free tonic. They will also be selling their tonic and soda for you to take home.

Where is Gin-uary

Gin-uary is held at Princes Wharf 1 (PW1) Castray Esplanade on Hobart’s beautiful waterfront. Gin-uary is just a stones throw from Hobart’s historic Salamanca – perfect for grabbing breakfast from the market on Saturday morning and to enjoy Hobart’s nightlife after the event.
